IEEE CS BMSIT's open-source contribution programme pairing students and new contributors with real projects.
Winter of Code 2026 is an open-source contribution programme run by IEEE CS BMSIT. Over seven weeks, participants explore open-source projects, pick up issues, improve documentation, and work through real Git and GitHub workflows with project maintainers.
The programme runs from 15 October to 1 December 2026 and is free to join. Registration closed on 13 October. It is an individual programme rather than a team hackathon, and the official page notes that the programme is already live.
